Transformation Through Reconciliation

Live at Peace Ministries (“LAPM”) is dedicated to helping hurting people experience peace with God, others, and internally.

The mission of LAPM is to
promote transformation through reconciliation
by providing Gospel-centered counseling, conciliation,
education, and consulting services to
individuals, couples, families, churches, and organizations.

Our mission is fulfilled through several unique approaches.

HOW ARE WE UNIQUE?

LAPM’s distinct Gospel-centered approach addresses the root causes of human struggles… considering how God has and is working in the history of humankind. Gospel-centered counseling and conciliation services always view people as created beings, made in God’s image and for His glory, spoiled by the Fall, but redeemed by faith in Jesus Christ. We know that the present pain and suffering of redeemed people is temporary, but because of Christ’s finished work on our behalf, we look forward to a lasting peace and joy in eternity.

The immediate goal in caring for hurting people is to help them gain insight into their situation and life in light of God’s Word and His purposes. We strive to provide a safe and supportive environment as we help identify and address heart issues. Redemptive counsel may include both words of compassion and loving confrontation in an atmosphere of trust, encouragement and respect.

The ultimate goal is to help others grow in faith, knowledge, and love for Jesus Christ as He increasingly transforms them into His likeness.

The staff of Live at Peace Ministries are committed to excellence and strive to live in loving obedience to Jesus Christ.

Philosophy of Ministry

Everyone draws from a set of core beliefs in what they think, feel, say and do. This includes all LAPM staff members..

Because we believe that the Bible is the Word of God concerning faith and life, we strive to base our practices on the principles found in Scripture. Information gained through medical sources, social science research, and psychology is often helpful in identifying problems and appropriate interventions, however all interventions must meet the criteria of biblical faithfulness.

For many people, the traditional model of therapy (one hour a week) unnecessarily prolongs the healing process. LAPM uses both traditional and out-of-the-box processes in helping hurting people. Transformation occurs when individuals commit the needed time to focus on the deeper issues of the heart in a redemptive counseling or conciliation process.

Many of our services, rather than relying on a traditional format, favor an extensive process (extended sessions on a weekly or as-needed basis) or an intensive process (several days back-to-back). LAPM custom-designs all services to meet specific needs.

WHO DO WE SERVE?

LAPM serves individuals, couples, families, churches and organizations.

The skills that make us effective in helping hurting people and highly conflicted couples and families are the same skills that make us effective in serving conflicted churches and organizations. Intervention services help churches and organizations locked in conflict restore peace and unity. LAPM’s education services and programs provide opportunities for gifted and qualified individuals to learn counseling and conciliation. Consulting services help churches and other ministries establish counseling and conciliation ministries in their own contexts.
